Mr. Bradley began his career in the toy industry in December 1983 when he joined Mattel Canada as Chief Financial Officer. In January 1988 he was appointed General Manager and in August 1990 he became President, a position he held until February 1997.

 

During his tenure at Mattel he oversaw the tremendous growth of the Mattel business powered by Barbie, Hot Wheels and Disney. He was responsible for leading the introduction of the Nintendo business into Canada, participated in the globalization of the toy business as the Canadian retail landscape evolved with the arrival of Walmart in 1994. Finally, he led the integration of Fisher-Price Canada and Mattel Canada after that acquisition by Mattel.

 

Latterly, he continued his association with the toy business as President of Grand Toys in in 2001/2002

 

More recently he has served in financial and senior operating capacities in Canadian public and private companies. He continues to consult in the merger and acquisition business and corporate financing business and acts as a corporate director 

 

Ian is a past Chairman of the Canadian Toy Association and has served on the boards of Kids Help Phone and Childrens' Aid Society Foundation

 

He is a Chartered Accountant and has an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy from the University of Toronto.
