4 Ways Your Gift Catalog Donation Makes a Difference

April 14, 2026

April 14, 2026 | It is critical for every child to have the opportunity to play every day, yet too many children go without it. The Toy Foundation™ (TTF) is committed to closing that gap with its mission to deliver play to children who need it most.

Through TTF’s Gift Catalog, donors can be sure their support reaches a child in need. A gift to TTF’s Toy Chest helps distribute toy donations to under-resourced schools, children’s hospitals, and community organizations; and contributions to TTF’s Play Fund support play projects at children’s hospitals and in disaster zones. A donation to either program will provide comfort and joy and make a meaningful difference in a child’s life.

Four specific ways donations make a difference include:

  1. A donation provides teachers with play tools to fuel students’ developmental growth. TTF distributes a portion of its toy donations to World Vision’s Teacher Resource Centers, where Title I school professionals can pick up toys and other classroom supplies at no cost. (Title I schools include high percentages of students from low-income families.) At the Bronx Center, pop-it toys were available that Wendy, a speech therapist, used with her students to practice counting and pattern-making, while also providing sensory stimulation and fun. A donation will help with the logistics of placing high-quality toys in under-resourced classrooms to support students’ learning and development.
  2. A donation places toys in children’s hands when they need them most. Year-round, TTF distributes the industry’s toy donations to children in need around the world. From giving a Spider-Man action figure to a young boy in Chicago who recently endured a tragic loss, to bringing a variety of new toys to Lesotho, Africa that encourage the kids to play together and build relationships, a donation supports these deliveries that make a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
  3. A donation provides comfort and joy to children going through immense hardship. TTF funds play-focused projects at organizations in communities impacted by natural disasters to provide comfort, reduce anxiety, and offer a much-needed outlet for fun. Woodbury Village Preschool, a community staple serving children ages six weeks to six years old, was severely damaged after the Los Angeles wildfires, and a TTF grant supported tuition assistance and replaced play equipment. A donation enables children to experience the comfort and joy of playing again after they experience a disaster.
  4. A donation upgrades play spaces to be safe, calm environments for all children. TTF funding helps upgrade outdated play spaces in hospitals, schools, or community centers serving under-resourced areas. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida was able to create a designated sensory room that includes visual, auditory, and tactile elements to help pediatric patients self-regulate and feel safe during their hospital stay. A donation helps to modernize more spaces like this and provides a calming, fun outlet for even more children.

Support TTF in its mission to bring the power of play to children who need it most by donating through the Gift Catalog.
