Don’t Miss Learning About this Season’s Top Holiday Toy Trends

toy-trends-logoOctober 31, 2022 | Earlier this month, The Toy Association trends team announced the top toy trends of the 2022 holiday season, giving media and play professionals a look into what products will be topping kids’ wish lists. The trends are backed by year-long product research and a OnePoll survey conducted on behalf of The Toy Association featuring insight from 2,000 parents in the U.S.

The trends include: Entertainment Everywhere, highlighting toys based on kids’ favorite characters; All About the Experience, filled with activities that will drive family experiences; Purpose-Driven Play, products that teach diversity and inclusion, speak to social issues like climate change, and support children’s mental health; and Play For All, featuring kidult items and toys with a cross-generational appeal. The Toy Association trends team will continue to hold meetings with member companies this fall and into the winter as it lays the groundwork for the top toy trends of 2023, which will be announced by The Toy Association on March 8 at The Play Date, a brand-new event hosted in partnership with Adventure Media & Events that will connect consumer, trade, and business press with toy brands and products that will be hot throughout next year.

Companies are encouraged to get their new products on the team’s radar for future media opportunities and for a chance to be included in the 2023 trends announcement. Contact The Toy Association’s Jennifer Lynch to set up an appointment; preference is given to Toy Association members.

The toy industry and press are also invited to save the date for a reimagined Toy Fair, taking place September 30 to October 3, 2023 in New York City, when toy companies from around the world will showcase priority holiday items while taking 2024 preview meetings behind closed doors.
